Maintenance Service Plan

1. Taking out the Plan 

1.1 The Plan is a service and maintenance contract, to be provided by Miele Singapore pursuant to the terms set out in these terms and conditions (“Maintenance Service Terms”). 

1.2 The purchase of your Product from us will be governed by our General Terms and Conditions. In the event of any conflict between these Maintenance Service Terms and Miele’s General Terms and Conditions, these Maintenance Service Terms shall prevail. 

1.3 The Maintenance Service Plan is available only to customers who are of legal age and who did not purchase or use their Miele products in connection with a commercial activity. 

1.4 We do not accept any terms and conditions of the customer that differ from ours. This applies even if we do not expressly object to their inclusion. Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory, statutory rights under Singapore law. 

2. Maintenance Service 

2.1 When a maintenance service is requested, Miele Singapore will contact the customer to arrange a date and time. 

2.2 Service visits will be conducted in the customer's own home by qualified Miele technicians who will: 

a) Carry out a diagnostic maintenance and performance assessment of the Product; 

b)  any applicable program and software updates; 

c) Clean the appliance with Miele care products; 

d) Adjust the Product for maximum performance 

2.3 The work detailed in clause 2.3 is a Standard Service. 

2.4 If during a service visit our technicians identify any faults with the Product which do not fall either within our manufacturer’s warranty or the scope of a Standard Service, they will advise on the work required to remedy those faults, and the cost of doing so (including both parts and labour). 

2.5 If the technicians are instructed to carry out any work identified as falling under clause 2.4, the cost will be payable by the customer. 

2.6 If a solution cannot be found during the Maintenance Service, a follow-up appointment will be arranged or – if repairing the device is no longer economically viable – a proposal for a replacement device will be put forward. The cost of the Maintenance Service will be deducted from the cost of the follow-up appointment or the replacement device. 

2.7 If the customer is unable to attend the agreed Maintenance Service visit, the appointment must be cancelled or rescheduled by email or telephone at least 24 hours before the scheduled time. If the appointment is not cancelled or rescheduled within this period, we reserve the right to charge a fee of SGD 199 to compensate for the loss incurred. The customer may demonstrate that no loss or a lower loss has been incurred, in which case the fee shall be reduced accordingly. The fee shall not apply where the customer is not responsible for the failure to attend the appointment (for example, in cases of sudden illness or other circumstances beyond the customer’s reasonable control). 

3. Conditions 

3.1 The Maintenance Service solely applies to Miele’s premium range of domestic appliances operating in a domestic environment irrespective of the date of purchase. 

3.2 Availability of the Maintenance Service is dependent on the correct installation and operation of the appliance in accordance with the installation and operating instructions that accompany each product. 

3.3 The Maintenance Service is only rendered in Singapore. 

4. Limitations 

4.1 The Maintenance Service does not cover the following: 

a) Repair of a Miele appliance where a defect is pre-existing, but not disclosed at booking, 

b Additional services such as repairs (to be invoiced separately, 

c) Coverage for damage through misuse (including failure to maintain, service or use with proper care), neglect, accident or ordinary wear and tear, 

d) Cleaning and care where the appliance has been neglected and not cared for as specified in the operating instructions), 

e) The range of Miele Professional appliances or Miele domestic appliances operated in a commercial environment. 

5.  Prices 

5. 1 The prices for the Maintenance Service confirmed at time of booking and as advertised on our website. The prices quoted include GST. 

5.2 For the Maintenance Service, a pre-authorised payment is required before the service is provided. The customer has the option to pay when Miele Singapore contacts the customer to confirm the appointment. 

6. Liability 

6.1 Nothing in these Maintenance Service Terms excludes or limits Miele’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence of Miele or its employees, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or where such exclusion is not permitted under Singapore law. Subject to the above, we shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability shall be limited to the price paid for the Maintenance Service, except where such limitation is not permitted by law.
