The appliance does not respond
Check that the mains plug is correctly inserted and that the fuse has not tripped. Some models have a main switch. Check whether this has been inadvertently switched off, then switch the appliance on again as described in the operating instructions. Check whether the appliance is in stand-by mode. If this is the case, quit this mode.
An error message "F .." appears in the display
Coffee makers indicate faults in the display. These can then often be corrected by consulting the operating instructions. After rectifying the fault, switch the appliance off and then back on again. If the error message still appears in the display, please contact our Customer Service.
The espresso is not hot enough
Please use a pre-heated cup for the preparation of an espresso. You can also make use of the appliance functions "Steam" and "Hot water" to pre-heat the cup.
The amount of espresso/coffee is too low/high per serving
You can set the amount of espresso/coffee brewed per serving via the customising settings in the menu. The procedure is explained under the point "Amount of coffee" in the operating manual.
Only hot water flows out of the Coffee/Espresso spouts (only applicable to CVA 40XX)
Possibly the flap above the chute for ground coffee has been opened. The question "Preparation of ground coffee" is shown in the display. If this question is answered with "Yes", no beans are grinded and the coffee that has been filled into the ground coffee compartment will be used. If no coffee has been filled in, only hot water will flow out of the spouts.
The operation menu is displayed in another language
Miele appliances offer a lot of languages that can be chosen in the menu settings. For all texts shown in the display the language can be selected. If you have selected the wrong language by mistake it is still possible to select the proper one. Just follow the flag symbol to get yourself back to the "Language" sub-menu.
